WHAT IS FINANCIAL AID?
Financial aid helps students and their families pay for education. This financial assistance covers education expenses including tuition and fees, as well as books and supplies. It represents the resources you use to make up the difference between what you and your family can afford to pay and what your education will cost. Eligibility for financial aid is ultimately based on student need.
Need is classified as the difference between the cost of attending the program and your expected family contribution (EFC).
The EFC is calculated from information you supply on the FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) using a federally legislated formula used by postsecondary educational institutions across the nation.
So the financial need is determined as:
Cost of attendance (student budget) minus EFC (parents and students) equals the need.
While attending National Aviation Academy (NAA) you and your family are expected to handle as much of the financial cost as you can. Since you benefit directly from the education, you are expected to contribute toward your educational costs (if you are a dependent this also includes your parents). However if you do not have the resources to finance your education there are options available to help you obtain your career goals. Students attending NAA use aid such as grants, scholarships and loans.
TYPES OF AID
Financial aid awards may include a combination of various types of aid. Each student’s situation is different based on financial need. The types of aid available for students attending NAA, include grants, scholarships and loans.
By meeting with one of the Financial Aid Officers, you will be able to explore your options. During the meeting you will have the opportunity to ask specific questions about grants, loans, scholarships and even military benefits if they apply to you.
