Advanced Aircraft Systems

The Advanced Aircraft Systems program is designed for individuals with aviation maintenance experience or individuals holding an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate. This program provides training on the Advanced Aircraft Systems found on transport category aircraft, starting with the basics before covering more extensive material. Modern aircraft are highly complex machines equipped with highly integrated electrical systems that must operate within extreme tolerance to operate safely. In order to maintain these aircraft in peak operating condition, the modern A&P licensed technician normally requires a higher level of training to perform the scheduled maintenance, repairs, and complete inspections.

Examples of Advanced Aircraft Systems are radio communications, navigation, and weather radar; as well as the computer systems that monitor and control flight and primary aircraft functions.
