National Aviation Academy 2019: A Year in Review

We’re taking a look back through the year to highlight some important events at National Aviation Academy (NAA) in 2019! It has been an incredible year, and the perfect way to end an astonishing decade! From emotional graduations to successful career fairs, we couldn’t be more proud of the accomplishments of our students, alumni, and staff!

Some highlights during the year include:

SUN ‘n FUN

From April 2-7, NAA attended the SUN ‘n FUN International Fly-In Expo. The six-day event on 2,200 acres hosted individuals from around the world and showcased the best of aviation. Light sport aircraft conducted performances and wowed the audience will incredible stunts! We are excited to be at the next Sun N’ Fun in 2020!

Articulation Agreement with SNHU

NAA and Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) entered into an articulation agreement earlier this year to provide a new pathway towards advanced degrees. This partnership allows students to earn college credit towards a bachelor’s degree from SNHU by completing aviation maintenance training at NAA!

Second Annual Food Truck Festival & Open House

What an amazing day! We held our Second Annual Food Truck Festival & Open House in support of a local community partner, Pinellas PAL (Police Athletic League). We raised over $2,500 for PAL through raffles, donations, vendors, and volunteers! We look forward to another great event next year!

Collecting Socks for the Boston Mission

Spearheaded by Student Services at our New England campus, students and staff gathered over 3,500 pairs of socks! NAA was among ten qualifiers for the 103.3 AMP Radio TJ Show Sock Drive. We competed with nine other qualifiers to see who can collect the most pairs of socks (the #1 most requested item at homeless shelters) to benefit the Boston Rescue Mission! We won the competition, pushing ourselves and our competitors to do the most we could for this worthwhile cause.

Celebrating 50 Years of Aviation Maintenance Training in Tampa Bay

2019 marked a special occasion for the Tampa Bay campus! The fiftieth anniversary of our inception in Tampa Bay is a proud accomplishment for National Aviation Academy. Over the years, we have watched the aviation industry expand and evolve, and we’ve been right alongside it. Our legacy, our facilities, or logo and brand may have changed over the years, but our passion and purpose have not. NAA started with a promise: to train aviation maintenance technicians in an environment conducive to excellence. We still hold that promise to the highest degree through our teach practical skills to the future of aviation maintenance.

Not to be left out are the countless hours that students spent training, studying, and dedicating themselves to careers in aviation maintenance. Instructors and support staff were there every step of the way to offer their expertise and guidance.

Thank you for an incredible year and a groundbreaking decade. We look ahead to the future with positive intent and the drive to train the next generation of aviation maintenance professionals.
