Be the Match Registry at NAA-Tampa Bay

For the thousands of people diagnosed every year with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, a cure exists. Over the past 25 years Be The Match, operated by the National Marrow Donor Program  (NMDP), has managed the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world.

Dozens of NAA-Tampa Bay students and team members signed up for the Be The Match registry on Thursday, April 20, 2017. The on-campus event was organized in response to Emilie Meza, a 1-year-old diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and the search for her match–which is ongoing.

For more information about Emilie Meza, visit to her GoFundMe page:

A second registry is scheduled for May 2, 2017 from 3 PM – 4:30 PM so that night-shift students and other from the local community are able to participate. Let’s work together to be the cure for those in need.

SUN ‘n FUN 2017

This year’s SUN ‘n FUN International Fly-In Expo set a record for most exhibitors ever at 510! It was great to see so many faces, both familiar and new, as National Aviation Academy set up on the premises at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport in Lakeland, FL.

SUN ‘n FUN was created by a small group of aviation enthusiasts in 1974. The annual event, held each April, has grown into the second largest event of its kind in the world and is Florida’s largest annual convention. The six-day event sprawled over 2,200 acres with a variety of aircraft, aviation-related events and activities.

SUN ‘n FUN provides an unparalleled opportunity to marvel at aviation. It is always inspiring to connect with industry partners and learn something new!

New England Career Fair – March 23, 2017

Did you know that over 679,000 new maintenance technicians will be needed in the aviation industry by 2035? Boeing’s 2016 Pilot and Technician Outlook has indicated that the demand for skilled technicians outpaces the rate at which positions can be filled.

At NAA, our highly-trained graduates are put into direct contact with industry leaders six times per year. Our Career Services department builds relationships with recruiters and hiring managers so that recent graduates AND alumni have lifetime* access to employment assistance.

On Thursday, March 23, 2017,  some of the industry’s best were at the New England campus to meet and recruit NAA students. The event tied as the largest Career Fair in campus history. Attendees included: Abel Womack, Air Wisconsin, Cape Air, Endeavor, Envoy, Goodyear Air Ship, PSA, SkyWest and more!

On-site interviews took place on campus and several offers to students have already been made. We look forward to seeing the amazing things these aviation professionals will accomplish!

*Lifetime is defined as long as NAA is in operation
