NAA Career Fair Demonstrates Need for Qualified A&Ps

Did you know that over 648,000 new maintenance technicians will be needed in the aviation industry by 2036? Boeing’s 2017 Pilot and Technician Outlook has indicated that the demand for skilled technicians outpaces the rate at which positions can currently be filled. NAA Career Fairs are designed to put qualified students and alumni in front of employers who are actively looking to recruit personnel. NAA’s most recent Career Fair took place on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Tampa Bay campus in Clearwater, FL. Thirty-five companies were in attendance scouting students, conducting interviews and making offers.

Career Fair 2

The demands of the global aviation industry represent a rare and desirable aspect of field: tangible and continuous job growth. NAA focuses solely on aviation maintenance training to meet the specific need for Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanics in aviation and parallel industries. Industry leaders such as Boeing, Delta, Embraer, General Electric (GE), Gulfstream, Cape Air and many more were onsite. In total, 57 interviews were conducted and 51 offers were made.

Our next Career Fair will be at NAA’s New England campus on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Stay tuned for more details!

Mobile Veteran Center Visits NAA

The Department of Veterans Affairs provide readjustment counseling and information resources to Veterans across the country through Mobile Vet Centers (MVCs). Just like community-based Vet Centers, MVCs provide services that help Veterans make the transition from military and civilian life. This is a useful and valuable tool for Veterans across the country, especially those located in rural areas.

Fifty motorized vehicles are driven to provide Veterans with counseling, resources and other services. On Wednesday, May 23, 2018, a MVC visited NAA’s Tampa Bay campus to engage with our Veteran population. It was an excellent chance for individuals to learn more about disability benefits, VHA healthcare information, readjustment counseling and more!
