NAA Alumni Terrance Woodard

Terrence Woodard

Terrence grew up in the country. Farmlands in Mississippi were home before attending NAA’s Tampa Bay campus.

Farming taught him the meaning of hard work, perseverance, humbleness, and gratitude. These values are deeply ingrained and have helped pave the successful career he has achieved since graduating in 2011.

NAA to Regionals to the Majors!

Upon graduating from NAA, he started his first aviation job with Air Wisconsin Airlines as an Aircraft Mechanic and Delegated Inspector. Short of two years at Air Wisconsin, the opportunity came to join United Airlines, where he served as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician. He is now the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor with United Airlines – Houston, TX. He has been with United for nine years. As an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor, he enjoys leading a team of technicians and being a part of the recovery of aircraft.

Dreams Not Only Realized, but Achieved

Terrence always focused on ways to grow professionally. He met with the FAA Designated Pilot examiner to do his private pilot check ride, becoming a licensed pilot in addition to a certified aviation maintenance technician. He also furthered his education by receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University.

Hard Work Makes It Happen

His passion did not stop there. He took time to focus on preparing for the most significant interview in his aviation career. Terrence was accepted to United’s Aviate Program in March 2022, shortly after he purchased his first plane! He is a proud owner of an 80W. At the end of 2022, he was busy becoming a commercial rated pilot and earned his commercial multi-engine add-on rating, now opening more doors to the airlines!

What Comes Next?

In the next five years, Terrence will change to a new role as a pilot for United Airlines. Becoming an aviation maintenance technician expanded his horizons and offered entry to the many opportunities within the aviation industry.

While he continues to work on his flight hours before evolving in his role at United, Terrence is a committed husband and father, a man of faith, and proud NAA alumni with a true passion for Aviation.
