What are your standards for acceptance?

We look to make sure that the student is well rounded and wants a career in aviation. We require prospective students to interview with the Admissions Department to complete an Acceptance Interview.

When are tours offered? Who gives the tour? Do you have an open house?

Tours are offered Monday through Saturday except for holidays observed by NAA. Tours and information sessions are given by Admissions Representatives and Instructors. There are various “Open House” events on campus at each campus location. NAA encourages prospective students to attend an open house or call an Admissions Representative to schedule a tour if possible.

What programs do you offer?

NAA has been in business since 1932 and is known as a leader in aviation training. We offer Aviation Maintenance Technology, Aviation Maintenance Professional, and Avionics Technology programs at our Tampa Bay campus and Aviation Maintenance Technology at our New England campus. NAA also offers specialty programs for those students with previous aviation experience.

What do I need to do to register?

Registration and application fees combined at National Aviation Academy is $150 for aviation maintenance programs. Students are required to pay their registration fee before they can work with Student Finance or Student Services Departments. For all the information pertaining to registration fees please speak with your local Admissions Representative.

Do I have to understand English?

To become an A&P mechanic the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires that you’re able to read, speak, and understand English.

How old do I have to be to attend NAA?

The FAA requires applicants to be 18 years or older.

Can I attend NAA with a General Educational Development (GED)?

Yes. NAA will accept a GED test or a High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).

Do I have to know much about flying or maintenance?

Although it is helpful to have some mechanical skills, previous aviation or maintenance experience is not required to attend NAA. Having no previous experience will not affect a students status for acceptance.

How many students are enrolled at your college?

NAA has around 800 students enrolled between its campuses.

Where do incoming students live while attending NAA?

NAA does not offer on campus housing. The Student Services Department at NAA helps each student find suitable housing or a roommate if desired. Please visit www.naa.edu/studentresource/housing for more information.
