It was another great day to honor the students of the New England Campus. Thanks to the students and staff for all of their hard work in making this another great day in New England. View New England Student Appreciation Photos Here!
CONGRATULATIONS!
The Association of Women in Aviation Maintenance (AWAM) has awarded Felicia Kaylor, 3rd Term Tampa, their Student of the Year award. This award is given to students (male or female) honoring a deserving hardworking student with a great attitude.
Ms. Kaylor was just honored at a breakfast meeting of AWAM during the Women in Aviation International conference in Orlando at the end of February 2010.
It is an honor for NAA to have a student recognized by an industry organization while still in school. The effort put forth by all at NAA to nurture and develop top talent really shows.
TAMPA BAY'S CAREER FAIR and CAR SHOW JANUARY 15-16, 2010: 6225 Ulmerton Road | Clearwater, FL 33760
The Career Fair - Friday, January 15, 2010! For everyone in the Aviation Maintenance industry, we had employers on site conducting interviews with approximately 250 job seekers.
The Car Show - Saturday, January 16, 2010! The 4th Annual Car Show was a great success. With the threat of rain all day, the success of the event was going to be a coin toss early on. The clouds stayed with us all day to shield us from the harsh sun. We were fortunate to avoid any rain during the event and have 76+ show car owners braved the elements. This was a few more than last year when it was cold. With great friends, cars, vendors and food it was another great community event to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. This year we raised $3,155 for JDRF which was more than a 50% increase over 2009. It gets better every year!
Our car show winners were as follows: Best of Show - Mark and Lisa Shuman's 1969 Camero
People's Choice - Len & Teresa Zemaitis' 2006 Ford Mustang GT
Charity's Choice - Gregg & Karin Hanke's 1929 Ford Roadster
Best Engine - Jerry Bascio's 1969 Chevelle SS
Best Engineered - Rick Witteck's 1967 SS Nova
Best Finish - Lance Kolbert's 1999 Mustang GT
Best Sound System - Keith Blessing's 1998 Ford F-150
Long Distance Awards - Bob Anger's 1996 Mustang Cobra and Jerry Staubenow's 1950 Mercury 2dr Lead Sled
Best Club Participation - Tampa Mustang Club

A special thanks goes out to Larry Clem(our DJ), Matco Tools, Ulmerton Wing House, the Pinellas County Sherriff's Office and our good friend Mike DeWitt at Team DeWitt Racing. We have already set the date for next year, Saturday, January 15, 2011. We hope you all can make it.
