Definition of Aviation Maintenance

The branch of aviation involving the repair and maintenance to the airframe, power plant and avionics of aircraft. Aircraft technicians who are certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) sections and the National Center for Aircraft Technician Training (NCATT) for the Avionics section.

A pillar in Aviation Maintenance Training is National Aviation Academy (NAA), who has been training Aviation Technicians since 1969. More information can be found on the NAA website under programs.
