NAA Students Visit UPS

NAA’s AMP 3 class visited UPS Air Cargo at the St. Pete-Clearwater Airport (PIE) on Friday, June 30, 2017. They recalled lessons and industry terminology while observing large-scale projects in maintenance hangars and out on the tarmac.

UPS Air Cargo provides worldwide airport-to-airport freight service from PIE. Their comprehensive hub-and-spoke network provides access to key transportation centers across the United States and beyond.

It was a comprehensive learning opportunity that allowed students to get a better understanding of what working in cargo operations is like, while simultaneously learning from individuals already working within the industry.

Tampa Bay Graduation – June 2017

NAA—Tampa Bay hosted a graduation ceremony for Classes 3/16 AMT and 11/16 AMP on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Central Park Performing Arts Center in Largo, FL. Family and friends gathered to celebrate with students who successfully completed NAA’s Aviation Maintenance Technician and Advanced Aircraft Systems programs.

Graduates from these classes have already secured employment with industry leaders such as Columbia Helicopters, Gulfstream Aerospace, Marine Concepts and Stambaugh Aviation.

Students who exhibited outstanding achievement received specialized awards. Joshua Pedrianes was awarded Top Tech-AMT and Tyler Whitmore was named Top Tech-AMP. Congratulations, graduates, and best of luck in your new careers!

Students from NAA’s Tampa Bay campus visited Textron’s service location operating in Tampa, FL on Friday, June 16, 2017. A tour of the facilities was offered and students were able to ask questions about the day to day operations. It was an informative session for all who attended, imparting that with rich experience, skill, talent and perspective, the goals of maintenance professionals can be achieved.
