Scott Baumeier is the Senior Manager for 787 Preflight and Delivery Operations, Boeing Commercial Airplane Group. The 787 has been met unprecedented demand with 56 customers having placed orders for 857 airplanes from six continents of the world, making this the most successful launch of a new commercial airplane in Boeing's history. Previously, Baumeier has served as Senior Manager for 757 Delivery Operations. In this role, he was responsible for ensuring that the appropriate people, processes and tools were in place to enable delivery of Boeing products and services and a culture of continuous improvement. Throughout his career, Baumeier has held various leadership positions in Delivery Operations and Lean Manufacturing working on 747, 767 and 777 aircraft programs. Baumeier started his aviation career in 1982 with the United States Air Force as an Avionics Technician. In 1988, he joined Boeing as a production electrician on commercial aircraft programs. He holds a bachelor's degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and a master's degree in Business from the University of Phoenix.
