Course Description:

The inspection authorization program is a four day course that prepares qualified candidates to obtain an inspection authorization certificate from the FAA.
Classes begin on Mondays and finish on Thursdays, with testing on Friday. The content of the course places a heavy emphasis on Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's), Airworthiness Directives, and research techniques for acquiring necessary data in the performance of the position as an authorized inspector.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Hold an Airframe and Powerplant rating for three years, during which time the applicant has been actively engaged in aircraft maintenance for the past two years.
  • Have a fixed base of operations
  • Have available: facilities, equipment, and resource library access necessary to properly perform an inspection after a major repair, alteration, or annual is accomplished on an aircraft.
  • Complete IA Form 8610-1, Obtained from your local FSDO

Additional Information

Tuition for the course covers books, supplies,access to the prepware in our computer lab for research and study, as well as the FAA test, which is administered on site at the school.

Subscriptions to the Avantex reference library, also provided on-site for student use, are available through the school.
