National Aviation Academy in conjunction with it’s Open House and Car Show on January 12, 2008 hosted a Career Fair for Aviation Technicians on January 11, 2008 at it’s main campus on Ulmerton Road in Clearwater, Florida. The Career Fair was open to all qualified Technicians, specifically anyone who has aviation maintenance training holding FAA, FCC and/or NCATT certification in aviation maintenance. On Thursday, Cessna flew in from Wichita, Kansas with their Citation CJ2 Corporate Jet and had it available for students to tour on Friday at NAA’s Hangar on the 11th. The weekend was a great success with over 500 participants taking part. Participants included members of the current National Avaiation Academy student body, Alumni, and local FAA professionals. Many of the vendors conducting interviews on Friday decided to come back on Saturday to continue the interview process and participate in the Car Show. Several job offers were made as a result of the interviews on Friday and Saturday. Many employers have already requested to be a part of the '09 Career Fair. National Aviation Academy plans to expand the number of vendors in attendance in 2009!

About National Aviation Academy:

National Aviation Academy began training Aircraft Mechanics in 1969, and was licensed by the FAA in 1970. The school operates in both a large classroom and office facility as well as a hangar facility. All "hands-on" training is performed in both lab classrooms and a maintenance hangar located 1.5 miles east of the classrooms at the St. Petersburg / Clearwater International Airport.

National Aviation Academy is a nationally recognized aviation maintenance training school. NAA’s program prepares students for certification by the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification is required to perform maintenance and repairs on aircraft from small propeller-driven planes, to the largest jets.

National Aviation Academy provides a broad aviation maintenance education that gives students the knowledge and confidence they need to be successful as Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMTs). The program encompasses 42 areas of aviation technology and the regulations involved. Approximately half of the training time is spent working directly on aircraft, engines, and associated equipment for both jet powered and piston powered aircraft. NAA’s highly qualified instructors have many years of industry experience and most importantly they have a genuine passion for instructing the next generation of aviation maintenance professionals. Emphasis is placed on the student's mastery of career-related skills and building of self-confidence for entry into the industry upon graduation.

Graduates of NAA are currently serving technician positions with such exciting and well known companies as JetBlue Airways, Continental Airlines, Raytheon, Honeywell, Southwest Airlines, Cessna, Delta Airlines, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, MESA Air Group, TIMCO, PEMCO, URS, ASA, AEROTEK, and many more.
