| National Aviation Academy is approved by federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students under Form I-20 (Student Visa). Students studying here from abroad are required to possess an M1 Student Visa. The I-20M Application for the M1 Student Visa can be obtained through the Admissions Office. Students must work with their admission counselor to demonstrate financial ability to cover all costs associated with the 14-month program. This includes tuition & fees, room & board as well as sufficient access to funds needed for personal expenses for the duration of study in this country. Students wishing to apply for a student visa are required to pay the $500 registration fee prior to the issuance of the authorized visa application. Foreign student must then pay their tuition in three payments. Unfortunately, financial aid is not available for foreign students.
The following items must be provided before an I-20 is issued:
- Completed Application for Admission form, the $500 registration fee.
- An official copy of upper secondary school academic records. (These must be sent directly from that school to National Aviation Academy). All transcripts must be translated into English and must be certified by the proper officials.
- A student for whom English is not the primary language must either attain a minimum score of 450 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or provide documentation of English proficiency. Note: For information on English / TOEFL classes Click Here.
- A bank letter and affidavit of financial support OR scholarship letter that covers the cost of all tuition, housing, and other associated fees for the program.
- Finally we will need to know your Country of Birth, Country of Citizenship, and Date of Birth.
Prospective students will find the following information helpful:
Visa: A VISA will permit you to enter the U.S. in a certain category (for example: M-1). Visas are issued outside the US at an American Consulate or Embassy.
Form I-20: The Certificate of Eligibility, or I-20 Form, is sent from National Aviation Academy to a new student so that he/she may obtain a student VISA from the US Embassy. The I-20 is also necessary to re-enter the US after a temporary absence and must be endorsed by the Designated School Official at National Aviation Academy.
Employment: International students are NOT permitted to work off campus under M-1 VISA status. Most students find it difficult to rely on local bus service to get them to their classes on time, and taxi service is very expensive. There are several apartment complexes located within walking or bicycling distance of the school. |
